Breathe Easy and Live Comfortably

Window fly screens are a simple and practical way to improve comfort throughout your home. They allow fresh air and natural light through your windows while helping keep flies, mosquitoes and insects out.

They are ideal for bedrooms, living areas, kitchens, laundries and any space where you want ventilation without the annoyance of insects inside the home.

At Sasco, every window fly screen is custom made to suit your window opening. Our team can help you choose the right frame size, mesh type, colour and installation option for your home.

Important: Window Fly Screens vs Security Screens

Window fly screens are designed for airflow and insect protection. They are non-security insect barrier screens and are not designed to provide the same level of protection as security window grilles or security window screens.

Why Install Window Fly Screens?

Window fly screens are useful all year round, but especially during warmer weather when you want airflow without leaving your home open to insects.

Fresh Air

Open your windows and enjoy airflow through bedrooms, kitchens and living areas.

Insect Protection

Help keep flies, mosquitoes and other insects outside while still letting air through.

Clear Visibility

Choose mesh options that suit your preferred balance of airflow, visibility and durability.

Made to Fit

Custom made screens help achieve a neat fit compared with generic off-the-shelf options.

Window Fly Screen Mesh Options

Different mesh options are available depending on your priorities, including general insect protection, extra rigidity, clearer views or improved durability.

Fibreglass Mesh

Fibreglass mesh is the standard and most common option for window fly screens. It provides practical insect protection, airflow and visibility at an economical price point.

Standard charcoal fibreglass fly wire
Good airflow and insect protection
Suitable for general window fly screen applications
Luxury screen mesh compared with standard fly screen mesh

Luxury Mesh

Luxury mesh is a premium option designed for customers who want improved clarity and a finer appearance, especially on windows where the view matters.

Improved clarity compared with standard mesh
Good for scenic windows and garden views
Premium option for customers who want a cleaner look

Aluminium Mesh

A stronger, more rigid mesh option with a charcoal finish. It can also be used where aluminium mesh is required for BAL-29 bushfire rating considerations, subject to suitability.

Paw-Proof Mesh

A tougher mesh option that can be discussed where pets or extra durability are important. Suitability depends on the window type and screen requirements.

Not Sure Which Mesh?

Our team can explain the differences and recommend a practical option based on your window type, budget, pets, visibility and airflow needs.

How to Order Window Fly Screens

To keep window fly screen orders efficient and cost-effective, the best process depends on the number of screens you need and whether you are also ordering doors.

Let us know your suburb, window types and approximate quantity so we can guide you properly.

02

Choose the Best Ordering Method

For small replacement orders, you may be able to bring old screens in or provide accurate measurements.

03

Measure and Manufacture

Screens are custom made to suit your measurements or professionally measured openings.

04

Fit and Enjoy

Once ready, your fly screens can be fitted or collected depending on the order arrangement.

Replacing One or Two Window Fly Screens?

For small window screen replacement orders, it is often more cost-effective to bring your existing screens to our Hoppers Crossing factory so we can use them as a template.

Bring in Your Old Screens

This is often the easiest way to replace damaged screens accurately, even if the old mesh is torn.

Provide Your Measurements

You can provide precise measurements, but please measure carefully as the screen will be made to those dimensions.

Ordering with Doors?

If you are also ordering a security door or fly screen door, we can usually measure the window fly screens during the same visit.
