Combining the strength of steel with the durability of aluminium, these doors offer a formidable barrier for your home. To help you understand the unique advantages of this range, we've answered the most common questions below.
Are your screen doors custom-made? | Yes, every door we sell is locally manufactured and custom-built to the precise dimensions of your home’s doorway. We offer a complimentary measure and quote service to guarantee a perfect and secure fit. |
Who installs the door? | Your new door will be professionally installed by one of our experienced and police-cleared technicians. A correct installation is absolutely critical to the performance and security of any barrier door. |
Can I get a colour to match my home? | Certainly. The aluminium door frame is available in a vast selection of powder coat colour ranges, allowing you to perfectly match your home's existing colour scheme. |
Is it possible to have a pet door installed? | No, not in these range of doors |
What is the warranty on these combination doors? | We stand by the quality of our construction. These doors are backed by our comprehensive 12 months warranty on the door's structure and a 1-year warranty on the lock and hardware. |
What is the main benefit of combining a steel panel with an aluminium frame? | This construction gives you the best of both worlds. The decorative panel is made from fully welded steel, which offers significantly greater strength and impact resistance than cast aluminium. This is then housed within a high-quality, extruded aluminium frame that is lightweight, stable, and completely rust-proof. You get the strength of steel where it matters most, without the rust risk and weight of an all-steel frame. |
Is this door officially rated as a 'Security Door'? | This is a very strong "barrier door" or "safety door" and a significant step up from standard aluminium grilles. However, to be officially classified as a "Security Door", the entire system (including the mesh) must be tested to and pass Australian Standard AS 5039. While the steel panel provides immense strength, these specific doors are not rated to that standard. For a fully certified Security Door, please see our "Clear View" range. |
Will the steel panel rust? | The steel panel undergoes a multi-stage treatment process to prevent corrosion. It is treated with a zinc-plating anti-rust coating before being finished with a highly durable powder coat. With basic maintenance, such as regular cleaning with a soft cloth and mild detergent (especially in coastal areas), your door will remain in excellent condition. |
What is the best lock for this type of door? | While a quality single-point lock is fitted as standard, we strongly recommend upgrading to a triple-lock system. Given the inherent strength of the steel panel, a triple lock is the best way to maximise the door's security, anchoring it at the top, centre, and bottom to provide superior resistance against forced entry. |
How does this door compare to a Federation Aluminium Cast Panel Door? | The key difference is strength. The welded steel panel in these doors is substantially stronger and more resistant to a physical attack or major impact than a cast aluminium panel, which can be more brittle. If security is a higher priority for you than intricate design, this is the superior choice. |
What flyscreen mesh options are available for this door? | Our standard inclusion is a durable fibreglass flyscreen mesh. However, you can upgrade to a to fly mesh or security mesh that better suits your lifestyle |
Is the door very heavy? | While this door is heavier and more solid than an all-aluminium door, the lightweight aluminium frame keeps the overall weight manageable. It feels substantial and secure without being difficult to operate, unlike a much heavier, full-steel door. |
